About Steven Helgoth

When you study with Steven Helgoth, you’ll gain invaluable insights from a lineage of legendary acting teachers. A student of the iconic Uta Hagen—who herself trained under Stanislavski—Steven carries forward a rich tradition of acting mastery. Hagen’s students include Sigourney Weaver, Liza Minnelli, and Jack Lemmon, among others. Steven trained with Academy Award-winning actresses Sandy Dennis, Geraldine Page, and Jeff Corey.  Jeff Corey is a renowned actor, director, and teacher whose alumni list boasts names like James Dean, Jane Fonda, and Jack Nicholson. Today, Steven honors their legacies by continuing to teach the craft with the same disciplined, old-school approach.

As a director, Steven has helmed over 150 off-off Broadway productions in New York City along with numerous shows in Los Angeles. He has served as artistic director for several theaters and has produced a variety of award-winning productions.

In 1998, Steven expanded his expertise into casting, founding Helgoth and Associates Casting. His work spans over 20 film and television credits, including the Academy Award-winning short film West Bank Story.

His passion for storytelling eventually led him to form Cinekat Filmworks, a production company dedicated to creating original content. Under Cinekat, Steven has produced multiple feature films, shorts, and series.

A dedicated mentor, Steven has spent years training actors with his no-nonsense, old-school approach—one that sets him apart in the Los Angeles acting scene. His students have gone on to star in film and television, including Natalia Livingston, who won a Daytime Emmy for her role on General Hospital.
